Essentials of Acne No More

The new system that No More Acne provides was based on a 7 year old experimentation and trial and error. It is basically a program based on extensive years of research. As an active consultant, medical researcher and nutritionist of the alternative health industry for many years and an acne victim since the age of 13, Mike Walden provides some of the unconventional ways and methods to fight acne. Mike Walden emphasizes that in order to find an effective means to cure yourself from acne; one must fully understand and be aware of the real cause and nature of acne as a condition. In this book, he campaigns that acne is not a disease in itself but a symptom, or “warning” as it is repeatedly referred in the book, of a more serious underlying internal problem of the body. Therefore, treatment should be aimed to solve these internal problems leaving superficial and external remedies ineffective and impractical. In 220 pages, Mike Walden is able to provide a holistic approach to dealing with acne as it is related to several factors such as hormones, stress, diet and a lot more.

GenF20 Plus Side Effects

GenF20 Plus side effects are not as pronounced as those produced when taking the human growth hormone (HGH) injections that must be administered and monitored by a health care provider. HGH is in the peptide hormone classification and supplements can help these be released from the pituitary when age has slowed the production and levels have decreased. Lower levels will bring on signs of aging that many try to avoid, such as decreased muscle mass, increased fat stores and sagging and wrinkled skin.  Peptides are hormones that are proteins and have an effect on the metabolic system.

These stimulate the growth of muscles and bones and the free fatty acid causes the body fat to decrease. However, there are some side effects of this substance that is not beneficial to the body. One of these is the increased risk of diabetes because of glucose intolerance. HGH travels to the liver and stimulates release of blood sugar. Another side effect is acromegaly, which is an increase in the extremities and a distortion of facial features. Nerve function can be impaired and skin can become thick. Some bodybuilders and athletes can experience an increase in aggressive tendencies as the testosterone levels increase.

Can Honey Really Cure Acne?

Probably the worst problem a teenager could ever meet in his entire life is having acne. It doesn’t only look unflattering but can sometimes be a reason for a young adolescent’s low self-esteem. Acne is said to be caused by bacteria invading clogged pores in the skin, most commonly on the face, chest, neck and back. The pores, for someone reason, can be too narrow at times that oil naturally produce by the skin cannot flow out from the skin. Pores in the skin clog in this manner. When exposed to air they blacken and are called blacked heads. But when the clog is deep under the skin, this provides a medium for bacteria on the skin’s surface to proliferate. Because of this, the area reddens and becomes inflamed.

Many available products in the market nowadays promise to put a stop to embarrassing acne breakouts. Although some of them may work, not everyone is satisfied with the results and it is often too expensive. However, other natural alternative remedies exist and are more practical to use. One of the most popular and highly recommended is the use of honey. But can honey really cure acne? How does it work?

Healing properties of honey

Honey had been widely used in the past to clean wounds and prevent inflammation. Because it has been shown to contain anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, honey was used for a long time in such ways until the development of antibiotic made its use obsolete. But, the use of honey for acne treatment has been revived recently. But before you go out and buy yourself galloons of honey, there are some considerations you need to understand. First of all, it is better to use unprocessed pure raw honey. Bottled honey readily available in the grocery may have been added with preservatives that may render it ineffective in treating acne. Additionally, some people may be allergic to honey. Before considering to use it, make sure you are not allergic to honey or any of its active ingredient. There are also skin care products in the market that contain honey. It is also recommended that you try this product to know its effect. Although you wouldn’t know if it was honey that worked, as long as your acne improves I know you would care less.

How to use honey

But how do you use it? It’s simple. Apply small amount of honey on the affected with your bare hands. Leave it on for approximately 10 minutes to give it time to work. Te, rinse it off. Do this everyday until the acne has noticeably improved. Also, it is important not to apply heat to the honey by way of a microwave of stove. This may destroy the healing properties the honey contains.

What Causes Acne?

Much has been written about what causes acne. But up until know the exact mechanism that brings to the development of acne is relatively unknown and is still under extensive investigation. However, it has been postulated and widely accepted that different contributing factors lead to acne growth. These factors include, but are not limited to:

  • Excessive oil production
  • Obstruction of pores in the skin
  • Bacterial activity
  • Inflammatory Process

Excessive oil production

Oil glands deep within the skin produce oil, called sebum, naturally. Sebum serves as the body natural hair lubricants and moisturizers. It is produced deep in the skin and passes through a tiny canal like structures until it flow out into pores on the skin’s surface. During puberty, however, oil glands are stimulated by hormones called androgens to produce extensive amounts of sebum. This is the reason why teenagers have more oily skin compared to some older adults. Additionally, stress can also increase sebum production because of the same hormonal changes mentioned above.

Obstruction of pores in the skin

The skin becomes excessively oily when the oil glands in the skin produce large amounts of sebum. Commonly, the pores of the skin become obstructed and trap oil well inside the skin. The reason for this obstruction is still unclear. Some believed that it is caused by retained dead skin cells from the pores instead of being sloughed off. Although a popular belief, poor skin hygiene doesn’t cause this type of blockage. As a result, a plug of oil and dead skin cells gets stuck in the pores of the skin. These are called comedone, or most commonly known as a blackhead when they are open and whitehead when they are close.

Bacterial Activity

Infections caused by bacteria do not cause acne. However, bacterial activity plays a major role in acne development. Propionibacterium acnes is bacteria naturally inhabiting the surfaces of the skin. It protects the skin from other opportunistic bacteria by way of competing with them for nutrients.  The danger lies on the ability of these bacteria to grow and proliferate in blocked pores. When they do, they release irritating substances and cause damage to the skin.

Inflammatory Process

Because the pores are invaded, the body’s natural defenses, by way of the immune system, launch an attack to these bacteria. This process is characterized by swelling, redness, heat and sometimes pain. This is called the inflammatory process. When inflammation occurs, the affected area becomes reddened and swollen. This makes acne unflattering and embarrassing.

The combination of the above mentioned factors contribute to the development of acne. In order to make better choices in selecting the best acne treatment, it is important that you are able to first understand how acne develops.

Will Vitamin E Help Acne Sufferer?

Vitamin E is quite popular for its anti-aging properties. It is known as the “beauty vitamin” due to its role in slowing the aging process. In addition to this, Vitamin E has been long investigated for its potential use as an anti-acne agent. Together with the other fat soluble vitamins A, it has been shown that they worked hand in hand in the treatment for acne. However, vitamin E doesn’t work directly against acne alone. It serves to increase absorption of vitamin A. Moreover, as an anti-oxidant it kills free radicals and protects lipids and fatty acids from oxidation. This is important because Vitamin A, which is an active anti acne, is absorbed only when carried by a certain type of lipid. Therefore, vitamin E works synergistically with vitamin A.  Vitamin E indirectly helps the body fight against acne.

Food sources of Vitamin E

Foods that are rich in Vitamin E include wheat germ oil, almonds, sunflower seed, most raw nuts and seedsbeans, green leafy vegetables, sweet potatoes among many others. Although the food sources mentioned are rich in vitamin E, some of them also contain Omega 6 fatty acid which is still contraindicated to acne sufferers. Omega 6 fatty acid can cause the inflammation to worsen which can be disadvantageous for people with acne.

Red palm oil as rich and safe source of vitamin E

Among all other sources of Vitamin E, red palm oil provides the highest concentration of Vitamin E with not as much Omega 6 fatty acid compared to other sources like wheat germ oil and kernel oil. Red palm oil does contain omega 6 fatty acid but to a minimal amount that it can be disregarded. Moreover, it also contains carotenoids which is the inactive precursor of vitamins A. And you need worry about Vitamin A overdose because it is in an inactive form which means an excess of it will no longer be converted to Vitamin A.

The benefits provided by vitamin E goes well when taken with an equal amount of vitamin A. It is vital that people take advantage of this synergistic relationship to ensure efficacy of both vitamins. It is ideal to increase intake of foods rich with these vitamins but remember to do it within the recommended amounts. However, diet and healthy eating is just one aspect in the treatment of acne. Thus, it is equally important to observe other measures to ensure improvement in your skin’s condition.
